Visit to the university of Lulea, Sweden (May-June, 2015)
I was invited to present some guest-lectures in the university of Lulea in Sweden. The topic of the lectures was development of advanced high strength steels. I presented several seminars for the MSc students in the European Erasmus Mundus program. The study program Joint European Masters Programme in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering (AMASE) of the Universities of Saarbrücken (Saarland University, Germany), Lulea (Lulea University of Technology, Sweden), Nancy (National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine, France ) and Barcelona (Technical University of Catalonia, ETSEIB, Spain) is a master with mandatory mobility. This is a truly world class education in Material Science and Engineering. The over all goal of the program is to educate only the very best students to a level where they can either continue and get a PhD-degree in a very short period of time or seek prestigious employment anywhere in the world.
A single university can not fulfill the high demands to offer a true international education and instead several universities collaborate to give you the best education. You will spend at least one semester at one of the following universities: UdS Saarbrücken (Germany), UL Nancy (France), or UPC Barcelona (Spain). This will beside giving you an education in material science and engineering a culture experience and a world wide net work with students from all over the globe. During the two years of studies you will learn about most of the different aspects of material science and engineering.
The studies, obtaining a double degree, corresponding to the two universities where the student is registered. The studies made compulsory in two of the four following universities:
* Technical University of Catalonia, UPC (Spain)
* Universität des Saarlandes, UDS (Germany)
* Lulea University of Technology, LUT (Sweden)
