Advanced Materials Laboratory

The Advanced Materials Laboratory (AML) in the Department of Materials Engineering at IUT is established to promote applied research activities focusing on the synthesis of advanced materials including high-tech Ni-based superalloys, smart materials and advanced high-strength steels.

The following set-ups have been designed and manufactured in the AML based on several research projects supported by Iran National Science Foundation, Educational and Research Institute of Iran, Iran Nanotechnology Inititative, etc.:   

1) Bridgman Directional/Single Crystal Solidification System

   (Sponsored by Mapna-Parto Engineering Co., Tehran, Iran)

2) Electromagnetic Levitation Gas Condensation System

    (Sponsored by Education & Research Institute, Tehran, Iran)

3) Copper-Boat Vacuum Induction Melting System

    (Sponsored by Iran National Science Foundation)
